Subtitle Line Length Fixer
Lines that run too long get cut off or cover the picture. Rewrap every cue to a maximum character count, breaking on word boundaries. Runs entirely in your browser.

How to fix subtitle line length
- 1Paste your .srt or .vtt file into the box on the left.
- 2Set the maximum characters per line. 42 is the usual limit for broadcast and streaming.
- 3Click Convert and download the file, in the same format you pasted in.
Does it change the timings?
No. Only the line breaks inside each cue move; every start and end time is left exactly as it was. Existing breaks are flattened first, then the text is rewrapped from scratch, so a badly broken file comes out clean.
What if a single word is longer than the limit?
It stays on its own line and that line runs over the limit. Breaking a word in half makes it unreadable, which is worse than one long line. Text without spaces, such as Chinese or Japanese, is wrapped by character count instead.
