SRT to JSON Converter

Paste an SRT or VTT file and get a JSON array — one object per cue with start, end and text. Ready to drop into code. Runs entirely in your browser.

Runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded, no account, no limits.

How to convert SRT to JSON

  1. 1Paste your .srt or .vtt file into the box on the left.
  2. 2Click Convert. Every cue becomes one object; times are seconds as numbers, not timecode strings.
  3. 3Copy the JSON, or download it as a .json file.

What does the output look like?

A top-level array of objects, each with start and end in seconds (rounded to milliseconds) and text as a string. Cue numbers are dropped because the array index already carries the order, and inline tags are left in the text so nothing is lost.

Can I turn the JSON back into subtitles?

Yes. The JSON to SRT converter reads exactly this shape, so you can export, process the text in code, and bring it back as a subtitle file.
